I posted this on another site, any thoughts??
IMHO - it is best to avoid spending much time on the Internet, usage of blue tooth, etc. I don't have cable or satellite TV, plasma screeen TV, and generally, very low key on home applicances. from what I read, elektropollution causes damage, just as would drugs, cigarettes, etc... in particular to those whose genetic markers might lead to higher sensitivity. Regardless, it causes damage, even to those whose symptoms are not obvious. It causes damage to DNA strands, mtRNA, and mitochondria. I am cutting down further my internet usage, whilst exploring safety aspects of fiber optics. I will post a couple of references at the bottom at the post from mainstream peer reviewed medical/scientific journals ;) For those who want to skipreading, please listen carefully to the You Tube vids by Dr George Carlo, involved in a meta analysis of cell phone Electromagnetic Field (EMF) & Electric Field (EF) on health. I was horrified when I heard what Dr Carlo said about the extent of the damage to mtRNA and cell apoptosis. gap junctions, and ion channels :o this does not only apply to those of us suffering from ADRs, but to everybody. Scientists have shown through various studies, for over 20 years, that EMF is harmful. Powerful high tech industries such as cell phone companies are NOT insured against health issues arising from phone usage. Several companies are now writing on inserts about "allergies" from those gadgets, (I call this POSTURING). Through activism, Health Officials in some countries in Europe are taking action to protect their citizens. Calls for changes in policies concerning EMF/EF emission, as if on cue, devastating revelations concerning EMF are being published in main stream medical/scientific journals, take heed. Studies being published, in main stream peer reviewed medical/scientific journal are getting the recognition EMF on health deserves. Some scientists predict EleKtrosmog will be the major cause of ill health in the next 20 years onwards. As expected, scientists warning for many years about elektropollution, were either demoted, discredited, or ridiculed. Remember denial about Agent Orange, CJD, Cigarettes, Medication, Vaccines, ;) GWVs, now HRT, and yup, the list goes on .. Some feel the effects of EMF suffering headaches, arrythmias, heart attacks(yes that too, as shown in a town in Finland, which I wrote about in another post), cancers, glycation (fast aging), depression, anxiety, suicide, Alzheimers, Parkinson Disease, and various other health issues. Personally, I have cut down the hours I spend on the computer, and will continue to do so. if spending too long on the Internet, I suffer from burning skin, tingling, increase in neuropathy, headaches, arrythmia (worse when using the internet), etc... A few weeks ago, I fell asleep with the laptop switched on. As a consequence, I had horrid burning on my thighs lasting for many days, over a week. Lack of symptoms is not an indication that damage does not occur. World-renowned Epidemiologist Dr. George Carlo provided a high impact presentation that exposed the dangers of living in the wireless age in a way that everyone could understand. As the chief scientist of the world's largest research effort into wireless safety, the Safe Wireless Initiative (SWI), he discussed the effects of electromagnetic radiation, specifically Information Carrying Radio Waves (IRCWs) and how they negatively affect the body's ability to function and repair damage affecting our cells. This is great information about how emf effects our health. It starts getting interesting at No2 YT vid. Listen about the oscillation wireless technology has carrier waves frequency of 1900 to 2000 MHz range, heart beats 2 HZ = 2 cycles per second, 1900 MHz - 19,00 Million per second frequency osicallation is so high biological tissue can't recognize it....... Dr Carlo also mentions closing down of active transport channels, permeability of membrane is compromised, nutrients can't get in cells, and toxins can't get out, cells become energy deficient, and the whole process leads to shutting down of communication between cells, the whole process, leading tofree radicals going to the mitochondria. mRNA is further compromised, affecting RNA & DNA and nucleus of the mito, resulting in microneuclei, no longer functioning leading to apoptosis, (cell death). The bottom line is that ion channels are no longer functioning adequately. I suspect, some of us, who have been chronically ill for many years with unexplained indescribable distressing symptoms, probalby suffer from dysfunction in ion channels. I have just summarized a very complex process and chain of reactions which Doctor Carlo explains clearly, and uses easy to understand analogies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I1zQ9CDbgE&feature=PlayList&p=72C61F98C5EE458B&index=0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlThcHRPJEw&feature=PlayList&p=72C61F98C5EE458B&index=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtYSNzF8nPY&feature=PlayList&p=72C61F98C5EE458B&index=2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjfBPl0anOo&feature=PlayList&p=72C61F98C5EE458B&index=3 from here, I copied and pasted the worse about EMF/ES article: French believe the biological effects of exposure to RF radiation now beyond doubt In October 2009, the French Safety Agency reported that they consider the biological effects of exposure to RF radiation are beyond doubt. Action mustnow be taken to reduce exposure. The recently released report by the French Agency for Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (Afsset) shows that radiofrequency radiation affects cellular functions, as reported by around ten experimental studies considered by Afsset as being indisputable. There have been several mechanisms of action linking RF exposure with cellular changes, but they are still being discussed by different researchers proposing different ideas. The level of epidemiological proof concerning the excess risk of certain tumours remains contested. As there may be more than one mechanism involved, this may be expected. Whilst the biology is discussed and the epidemiology is uncertain, the French Agency accepts that the possibilities are there and the time for precaution is now. Afsset recommends the following : * Developing research to clear up remaining doubts and remain on the look-out for new emerging signals Afsset recommends targeting, as a priority, epidemiological studies, as well as studies on reproduction and childhood development, while also responding to studies that display biological effects. It highlights the delay taken in the knowledge of health effects concerning new frequency bands below 400MHz and those above 2GHz, which includes WiFi. * Reducing exposures of the public There is potential to reduce the exposure to radiofrequencies. The priority goes to mobile phones which are the main source of exposure for the public (though this is not necessarily so, see the two previous news items, pointing to DECT phones and mobile phone masts as the worst offenders). Afsset recommends "choosing systems that minimise the power emitted by DECT cordless telephones;" (page 18 of the report, called OPINION on the bottom of the linked press release). This is exactly what the Orchid phone does. Cont/....http://www.emfields.org/news.asp Electromagn Biol Med. 2009;28(2):201-14. Electromagnetic fields and the induction of DNA strand breaks. Ruiz-Gómez MJ, Martínez-Morillo M. Laboratory of Radiobiology, Department of Radiology and Physical Medicine, University of Malaga, 29071Malaga, Spain. [hidden email] The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified the extremely low-frequency (ELF) electromagnetic fields (EMF) as "possible carcinogenic" based on the reported effects. The purpose of this work is to review and compare the recent findings related to the induction of DNA strand breaks (DNA-SB) by magnetic field (MF) exposure. We found 29 studies (genotoxic and epigenetic) about the induction of DNA-SB by MF. 50% showed effectof MF and 50% showed no DNA-SB. Nevertheless, considering only genotoxic or only epigenetic studies, 37.5% and 69.2% found induction of DNA-SB by MF,respectively. In relation to these data it seems that MF could act as a co-inductor of DNA damage rather than as a genotoxic agent per se. Nevertheless, the published results, in some cases conflicting with negative findings, do not facilitate to obtain a common consensus about MF effects and biophysical interaction mechanisms. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19811402?itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum&ordinalpos=10 Reading most recent articles, in particular those cited below, it shows how much intra-cellular damage it does. It mentions causing chromosomal abherations also causing DNA strand breaks, as well as INCREASING LEVEL OF FREE RADICALS. NB. several other studies have shown strong evidence of the what is mentioned below about 20 years ago!! Simkó M, Mattsson MO. Division of Environmental Physiology, Institute of Cell Biology and Biosystems Technology, University of Rostock, Albert-Einstein-Strasse 3, D-18059 Rostock, Germany. [hidden email] There is presently an intense discussion if electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure has consequences for human health. This include exposure to structures and appliances that emit in the extremely low frequency (ELF) range of the electromagnetic spectrum, as well as emission coming from communication devices using the radiofrequency part of the spectrum. Biological effects ofsuch exposures have been noted frequently, although the implication for specific health effects is not that clear. The basic interaction mechanism(s)between such fields and living matter is unknown. Numerous hypotheses havebeen suggested, although none is convincingly supported by experimental data. Various cellular components, processes, and systems can be affected by EMF exposure. Since it is unlikely that EMF can induce DNA damage directly, most studies have examined EMF effects on the cell membrane level, generaland specific gene expression, and signal transduction pathways. In addition, a large number of studies have been performed regarding cell proliferation, cell cycle regulation, cell differentiation, metabolism, and various physiological characteristics of cells. Although 50/60 Hz EMF do not directlylead to genotoxic effects, it is possible that certain cellular processes altered by exposure to EMF indirectly affect the structure of DNA causing strand breaks and other chromosomal aberrations. The aim of this article is to present a hypothesis of a possible initial cellular event affected by exposure to ELF EMF, an event which is compatible with the multitude of effects observed after exposure. Based on an extensive literature review, we suggest that ELF EMF exposure is able to perform such activation by means of increasing levels of free radicals. Such a general activation is compatible with the diverse nature of observed effects. Free radicals are intermediates in natural processes like mitochondrial metabolism and are also a key feature of phagocytosis. Free radical release is inducible by ionizing radiation or phorbol ester treatment, both leading to genomic instability. EMF might be a stimulus to induce an "activated state" of the cell such as phagocytosis, which then enhances the release of free radicals, in turn leading togenotoxic events. We envisage that EMF exposure can cause both acute and chronic effects that are mediated by increased free radical levels: (1) Direct activation of, for example macrophages (or other cells) by short-term exposure to EMF leads to phagocytosis (or other cell specific responses) and consequently, free radical production. This pathway may be utilized to positively influence certain aspects of the immune response, and could be useful for specific therapeutic applications. (2) EMF-induced macrophage (cell) activation includes direct stimulation of free radical production. (3) An increase in the lifetime of free radicals by EMF leads to persistently elevated free radical concentrations. In general, reactions in which radicals are involved become more frequent, increasing the possibility of DNA damage. (4) Long-term EMF exposure leads to a chronically increased level of free radicals, subsequently causing an inhibition of the effects of the pineal gland hormone melatonin. Taken together, these EMF induced reactions could lead to a higher incidence of DNA damage and therefore, to an increased risk of tumour development. While the effects on melatonin and the extension of the lifetime of radicals can explain the link between EMF exposure and the incidence of for example leukaemia, the two additional mechanisms describedhere specifically for mouse macrophages, can explain the possible correlation between immune cell system stimulation and EMF exposure.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15352....ogdbfrom=pubmed |

I am far too ill to reference everything I write, likewise, I don't expect everyone who post to reference everything they write. Here goes anyway. It was mentioned in either one of these of two books: Electromagnetic Fields by B Blake Levitt or Cross Currents .... by Robert O Becker, M.D Secondly, examples of posturing is well encapsulated in my previous mail. Both books are excellent read.
