Privately it is too expensive for me.

You do not neccessarely need a professional company.
Somebody with a proper HF meter will do.
Something like a Gigahertz Solutions HF Analyser HF 58B will do.
Of course, if they have a spectrumanalyser with the appropriate antenna and
special cable, that is better.

last week I was visited by two technicians of our Dutch Antenna Bureau, the
peoplr who are supposed to know everything about this stuff.

We measured together, and got the same measuring results.
I used the HF 58 B.
So, this is a confirmation about the quality of the products.

Just push the on button on on, not ot the Geiger counter position. That is
rubbish.
You can hear the signals.
You should familiarize yourself with it.
On my website some sounds are there in MP3 format.
There is a cassette with many sounds available, and two CD's are in the
make, long overdue, but still not available.
I think, the reason is, that although the UMTS masts are running, only the
organisation channel is used, because there is no traffic, and they are
waiting to register UMTS traffic signals.

Now if you find only 4-10 uW/m2, I can congratulate you on your *safe
house*. Excellent.

In other houses, and places, varying values can occur because of reflections
on walls, etc.
You should always be aware of reflections.
You may turn around and shield the meter with your body in order to find
out.
Everybody has to learn how to *handle* a meter.

Beaware that the meter starts at 800 MHz up to 2500 MHz.
That has been done so that radio and television signals are filtered out, so
they can not obtruse the important telephone signals to measure.

we always use Spitzenwert, becaus that is what your body has to handle.
You should turn Aus in the first Betrieb, and no beeps.
Turn the volume knob to max, and you hear the signals.

First you start in 1999, and if the values are low, you go to 199.
There you hear the most.

And yes the radiation spots may vary enormously.

if the powerlines are underground, there is no danger, because they have to
be shielded.

If the lines are hanging in ther air, that is something else.
If the cables are intertwined, there is less magnetic fields.
Otherwise I would say 50 meters distance at least.

Hello Maureen,

no, the readings should be in the region of 20-40 nT.
If you read more, other stray currents are running there.

With a Trifield, like any other 1 D meter, the X-, Y- and Z-axis should be
measured.
Those values must be quadrupled, added together, and from this sum, the root
must be drawn, in order to obtain the real value.
With a 3D Tesla meter, you just point and read the value.
