Yes, I realize that there are many LED TV's out there, but I was wondering specifically which ones you've had success with, in case there are differences between sets that may make one LED tolerable, and one not. I believe we've already had people who've had trouble with LED monitors/TVs, or perhaps I'm mistaken... Marc |

Hi Marc!
I'm sure that there is ES people who have symptoms from both types of TVs! What about it makes no sense to you? All it is saying is that an "LCD TV"
and an "LED TV" only differ in the type of backlighting that is used. Something that is marketed as an "LCD TV" uses florescent lights for the backlight. Something that is marketed as an "LED TV" uses LED lights for the backlight. Otherwise, both types of sets use an LCD panel. Now, a plasma TV (or an OLED TV) are completely different, as these have no LCD panels and have no backlighting. I have found that my symptoms diminish greatly if I simply turn down the backlight to as dim as I can get away with. Especially when viewing at night, there is no reason to have the backlight set high. Marc |

Recommendations:
#1: look for the TCO seal to get low AC magnetic fields -- search models using the following http://www.tcodevelopment.com/pls/nvp/!tco_search The search results will also indicate if it is LED backlight. #2: If possible, look for at least .29 mm dot pitch. Lower pitch may be discomforting to the eye. Most likely this won't be satisfied in the bigger monitors. Best monitor size is 19" to get the best of resolution + dot pitch. Check for frequency 75 Hz. --- In [hidden email], Donna Avent <donnaavent@...> wrote: > > Hi Loni > Please don't say " no sense to you" > You need to look for LCD TV with fluorescent back lighting (containing > > mercury (Hg)) under Google. See yourself. > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluorescent_lamp > > OR See many list of LCD TV under Google. > http://www.google.com/search?q=LCD+TV+with+fluorescent+back+lighting+%28containing+mercury+%28Hg%29%29&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=HVz&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&&sa=X&ei=xlbcTPHkKpGssAO26tTlAw&ved=0CB0QBSgA&q=LCD+TV+with+fluorescent+backlighting+%28containing+mercury+%28Hg%29%29&spell=1&fp=5ddd74dd827ab059 > > Thank > |

Donna, please answer Marc's question as to which
LED TV you actually own. I tried an LED based projector and it was terrible. A lot depends on how the LEDs are driven.
