A person over the road from me some 50m away is contaminating my telecoms
and electricty with non other than a Pioneer 50inch Plasma TV it has been making me sick for many months and now I have cracked it, that is located it but I am powerless to stop it at present - Shivani would you call this dirty power ? PUK [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Hello Paul,
I have found that Pioneer plasma TVs do send VLF frequencies, directly. But I have also found, that digital tuners, like those for satellite dishes, do emit also stronger extra VLF frequencies in space. So you may have a radiation-low TV, a digital tuner may make havoc from the screen. In the latest issue of *het bitje* I have placed some info about my 26" Acer monitor, which is VLF radiation low. But I found in the middle of the screen spikes of ca 4.500 MHz. So I have fooled myself by looking only at VLF. Let that be a lesson! Plugging that TV into a filter might help you. Some power strips have
capacitor filters, which might take the edge off, but a good filter is 2 stages and might cost $150 new (filter concepts cf series) but could be cheap on ebay if you can find one. If you have GS filters, a cheaper experiment would be to get the neighbor to put some in near the TV. A double pole switch could turn off both hot and neutral in your bedroom. Instead of a ground use GFI on the first outlet on the bedroom side of the switch. MHz on a screen is probably the pixel refresh frequency, which is always going to be there. With a smaller screen it may be more confined. Hopefully the next generation OLED screens it will be weaker. Or E-ink (no refresh). I think for larger screens the real EHS problem is from resonances among the circuit boards, which start acting like antennas. An AM radio will sometimes buzz throughout the room with a big LCD screen on.
