Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has dentures, and if they have any problems with the metal frame in it, similar to the metal wires in eyeglasses?
I've got all my metal fillings out now, and just had a couple more teeth removed yesterday. Musta been some of the right ones, because even though it's always rough on me, the front part of my brain feels "brighter" than it has in a longgg time. I'm looking at some metal free alternatives, but have to keep chemicals in mind as well. There's this Valplast stuff, and then I have to look some more, but some made with nylon, which I believe would be the most compatible for me. By the way, from my reading the material used to give that nice pinkcolor to them is cadmium! NO thanks. I'll go for the clear or a blue tint I saw w/o it. My gums don't show when I smile anyway. This is a couple months off yet, so I have time to do some hunting around. Thanks, ~ Snoshoe |
Hi Snoshoe,
I do not have a denture just titanium implants that are coming out on Aug/12 at 2:30 pm, LOL , cannot wait. My dentist mentioned that he had patients with metal dentures who had issues with them, so made them "metal free dentures." I do not know what material he used, I only know it is possible. I know what you mean by removing metal and your brain and the whole head feeling brighter. I have been in and out of the dental office for the last five weeks and every time they remove something it feels better... However I cannot find anyone who had implants removed specifically due to the ES issue... I have a partial that has a base of metal, only partly covered by the other material. It is a major problem.
And, it also contains nickel, which I am very allergic to. Try to avoid metal in your mouth, as much as possible. It's not good for anyone, and a health hazard for some of us. Donnie |
