Degaussing coil

alinepapille
Has anyone tried using a degaussing coil? Are they effective for
discharging electromagnetic energy from metal?

Would love to hear some feedback on that before buying yet another
gismo.

Thanks,
Aline

It's for removing DC magnetic fields from iron or other metals
that became magnetized. Some people magnetize their screw
drivers so screws will stick. This will unmagnetize them.
It will have no effect on aluminum, copper, stainless steel, or
other metals that cannot stay magnetized. It also probably won't
work on something large like a mattress or a car tire.

I think I'd recommend saving up for a directional microwave detector
or a 'professional' AC magnetic field detector. Also, for most houses
I think a Stetzer meter is worth having.

Hi Bill,

I have heard that metal intensifies and re-radiates electomagnetic
energy but it sounds like you are saying a degausser won't help with
this? Of course, it could be DC magnetic fields that I am feeling when
near metal. Oh boy this is confusing.

I have a Stetzer meter but haven't managed to figure out what is
causing off-the-richter readings. Still haven't made sense of that.

Thanks for your clarification.
