I suspect it depends on a variety of factors, including the specific
modem you use, the speed you choose, etc.
I *did* try both in my house, and foundcable to be far worse than
DSL. HOWEVER, I later realized that my cable wasn't properly grounded
outside of my house, so I don't think it was a fair comparison. And
someone here pointed out that there were better modems available
than the one I used.
I also didn't particularly like Comcast as an ISP (for various reasons),
but that's a different subject... :-)
