Crowns again

steve
I am really agonizing over whether to use a Porcelain fused to Gold (98% Gold) Crown or a Lava Crown on my large lower molar. My Holistic Dentist favors the Gold Crown because he thinks it will last longer and is stronger than the Lava for a Molar which takes the brunt of chewing force. I took the Clifford test and I test well with both lava and Gold. The other part of theGold Crown is Platinum, which I also test well with.
So freaking confused!

That's easy - Lava.

When I was having my mercury amalgam fillings removed, I also had a
porcelain-fused-by-gold crown. I had them replace that too, as I
had read that ALL METAL should be removed from the mouth if one
wants relief from ES.

For some reason there are dentist that worry about the longevity
and strength of ceramic crowns. I have not found this to be
an issue, and I've had such crowns in my mouth for 9 years.
(I did have an issue where one of these crowns had a failed
bond with the tooth, and no matter how many times they tried
gluing it back in, it would fall out again after some time --
eventually I had that replaced with a new one, which has not
failed as of yet)

Hi Steve and Marc

Don't apologise for raising this again - these are hard decisions to make and it
is important to get them right both in terms of health and finances because
doing this is pricey!!. I am afraid I am with Marc on this one. It doesn't
matter that your holistic dentist has tested your bio compatability with the
gold and platinum and finds them to be ok for you - that is a totally different
argument from the issue of whether you want to have metal in your mouth which
acts as an antenna for the EMF. My personal take on it would be that even if
those materials were biocompatible with my system I wouldn't want them in my
body for that reason. If you have got to the point like I have where you cannot
wear even the smallest piece of gold jewellry, an underwired bra or even a metal
belt buckle for that reason then it follows that you wouldn't want those metals
in your mouth. I have a crowned tooth; the crown is sitting on top of a root
canal, and has been fixed into the tooth using a titanium post (as far as I
know). At times it feels like a lightning rod around EMF so the sooner I can get
it dealt with the better for me in terms of ES. As yet I don't know what I am
going to do about it and if the root canal could be redone and a ceramic tooth
could be cemented on to what is left of the existing tooth and root I wouldtake
that for the timebeing until something better comes along. My holistic dentist
is going to refer me to a similar guy who specialises in that sort of thingso I
will take his opinion on it. But I wish you well with the decision Steve and
hope you make the right one for your ES.

All the best

Steph

The "holistic" dentist who put the titanium pins and zirconium crowns into
my mouth had told me that I tested fine for them. Ha!

As I have recounted here before, severe and chronic symptoms disappeared
when the pins and zirconium were removed and replaced with Bellglas
(spelling?) by Dr. Cook. I once again suggest that you visit his Web site,
www.dentistryhealth.com, and read his book before you decide what dental materials to
use.

But not metal, for heaven's sake!
