Just went through a checkout at Costco.. 50mW/m^2, simply walking across the checkout. That's more than any cell tower I have ever measured, ever. Of course 50mW is completely within the "safe" range.
I'm assuming their checkout point of sale system is wireless. The workers are exposed to this constantly.. and likely more than 50, I was still at a distance. Does anybody else feel symptoms at Costco checkouts? |
I've had problems in Costco and thought it was the RF. A manager there had told me that nearly every employee claims that they feel fine when they come to work but always leave with a headache, so she asked me to bring in my EMF meters. It turns out the store has a high magnetic field engulfing the whole store. The Wifi was actually some of the lowest of the stores I've measured, but I didn't sample the checkout area. Will have to measure that.
Only 50 mw/m2 from a cell tower? In my area those triple decker towers often max out the 2000 mw/m2 read capacity of my Gigahertz meter! From: sailplane [via ES] <ml+[hidden email]>

Interesting finds! Wow, amazing they asked you to check. I'd expect them to ignore it. Yes, the highest tower I have measured in the Toronto area was 30mW, and I was extremely close. This is milli, not micro.. If you have HF32 that's 2000 micro.. 30mW = 30,000 microWatts/m2, well above the HF32 limit. I have a HF32D also I just want to say it's not very sensitive or useful, at this point, obsolete!.. I was mislead to believe levels are near 0 for years, while the level was plenty high.. Even ED88 is better, more sensitive and better range. Cell towers are now out of range for HF32. They do have Wireless AP's throughout the ceiling as well which would not be good for anyone with EHS. I've measured around 1mW/m2 (1000microWatts/m2) around them. |
@Sailplane....That "m" makes me think "micro" when it's "u" for "micro" - thanks for the reminder. I need to use the attenuator on the HF35C to check those towers. BTW, the Costco manager is someone that I've known for years and somewhat familiar with
EMF problems as her teenager began having buzzing in the ears right after smart meters were installed. From: sailplane [via ES] <ml+[hidden email]>

I am looking forward to your results, please let us know your measurements.. It will likely top your meter though. I have also started seeing many trees that are dead or dying at very low levels too. The first symptom is branches with no leaves. Usually it follows the wave pattern, so it dies more on the exposed side. I can tell the levels in my neighborhood just by examining the trees.. no meter needed. Some trees are stronger others, so not every tree is affected. I am taking into account that it could be purely coincidental and that it could be root diseases, bugs etc. Correlation does not mean causation.. So I look at random trees that are not radiated as well, everywhere I go, and I see extremely few instances of the symptoms that the ones exposed get. Ginko Biloba and green maples seem to be affected the most here. 100microWatts/m2 seems to be enough to affect them. If they do suffer, it definitely takes years for it to show, because the trees in front of my house have been there for 10 years, and only recently they started dying. |
