Cordless Phones????

 
when the system is unplugged the phones have a light that flashes and never stops. Are these phone transmitting a signal or does it just come from the base?

this flashing light wants to warn you, that the base is off and therefore  
the phone does not get a signal from the base, so that you cannot receive
calls  and do no calls.

My simple phone even has that feature, it is to let you know when the
phone line is down. No dial tone.

No transmission, just warning information.

My simple phone even has that feature, it is to let you know when the
phone line is down. No dial tone.

No transmission, just warning information.

All wireless phones emit radiation. Yes, the base is BAD. But ALL wireless phones
emit radiation. Most of the new ones are really bad. You are referring to the
the multi handsets they sell, where you get 2 or 3 phones in a package, right?
Some researchers even go as far to say that cordless phones aer worst then
cell phones, because the base they sit on is like having a mini CELL TOWER
in your house.

I think she means the cordless handset you talk through. Most come wn more than one handset w some units.

Sure. When the main base is disconnected and you have other phones in other rooms sitting on a base that plugs in to the outlet in that room; do the branch phone bases send out a signal if the main base is unplugged? 
 
On other words, do you need to unplug all the phones in every room that are additional cordless phones?

That may only be answered by actual testing with a meter, or a sensitive
body. Or only if someone else here has experience with the same
Manufacturer-and-model-number unit.

Might be easier to just unplug them, yes. It will be after your 2 weeks
alone are up that you'll find anybody who cares they're unplugged, right? :)

For DECT phones the main base unit (usually the larger unit) is the  
transmitter, so switching this off will render the additiional handsets useless,  
the only issue then is the transformer plugged needlessly into the wall, so  
simply unplug the lot.

I've seen a cordless handset which emitted strong RF until I took out the battery.

Thanks you puk! Exactly what I was asking! I did unplug everything around the base so I guess that took care of the other extension phones. My sister had a phone in her room but her door is locked and couldn't get to it thus the reason for my question.
