The evidence from the MCS and EHS communities is that each person's sensitivity profile is different.
We are all the walking embodiment of all that has gone before; our ancestors, our genes, our attitudes and our exposures in this life and possibly before (in utero, epigenetics etc.) and doubtless a whole lot besides. It is very easy to dismiss other's experience because we seem unaffected by their triggers. I say 'seem' because recognition of an effect does not mean there are no effects below individual's threshold of awareness. The human body has great ability to absorb the assaults the environment throws at it but when that tolerance is exceeded, a collapse may follow. I fear the EHS Canaries will not be widely acknowledged until a much greater proportion of people are seriously affected and unable to carry on as before. By then the damage may be locked in to the genomic code.
For the technically inclined, the Christmas Tree Lights were series strings of 20 x 12 volt bulbs making 240 volts end to end. Perhaps it was the dirty electricity or just the 50Hz. field. In any event, what should have been a joyous sight and a celebration was for me compromised by adverse side effects.
