Cell tower proximity question

abailey63
I am looking at an apartment that is about 3/10th's of a mile away
from a cell tower. I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of rf
exposure that far away. I know it depends on a lot. I am looking for a
very general idea. I am NOT asking the question how far away is safe.
Obviously I would prefer further away.

I have done some research and what I can find says signals degrade
significantly 1000 ft away. But that could be crap.

Thanks, Alan

Depends on a lot of factors. Do you have brick siding? First floor vs.
3rd floor? Which direction is the apartment facing? Line of site,
above, below grade...Does your neighbor or apt complex have wireless
internet or cordless phones (which could be a more significant factor)?
I could give you a dB reading on my profi II but does that really do
you any good? There are different towers that spew different levels at
different times of the day and have more or less rows of antennas.
To me, I have to be at least 1 mile from them, 5 plus miles from
Radio/TV.
yes, the signal will degrade with distance and this will depend on what
level of sensitivity you have.
I say between 20-45 dB.

Depending upon where you are in that 360 degree field, that is a
factor in your safety from symptoms. Good luck. There must be a meter
that will show this or you can try to get it from the company. Peg
