Cell Phone Towers & Antenna

Russ
I'm wondering what people have found is tolerable in terms of how close they are able to live to cell phone towers and antennas.  How close is too close and should distancing one's self from them be a top priority when looking for a new place to live?  Can anyone share experience of moving to a location that was either significantly closer or farther from cell phone towers/antenna and how much it either hurt or helped them?

In my seemingly never-ending quest to find a new place to live that meets both my MCS and ES requirements, I have found a place that looks like it could work real well except for the fact that despite being a relatively rural location near the water on an island/peninsula, antennasearch.com tells me that there are a lot of close by cell antennas.  A couple just 0.1 miles away and a total of ten within 0.3 miles.  These are just antennas, the closest tower is a full mile away, but just trying to figure out whether I need to rule out this place based on the proximity of these antenna.  If anyone has any thoughts on this I'd really appreciate it.  A building biologist suggested I could always just use shielding material in the house but I am not convinced that it would be that simple a solution (and probably expensive).

Thanks!

Russ

Distance alone is not a good factor of judgement. I can sleep pretty
near a telco tower, provided that its very well blocked by buildings/trees.

Get an RF metre. Cornet ED-7 is quite inexpensive and sufficient for
the purpose. I got mine through a guy on eBay. Free worldwide
delivery. Seems to be the cheapest source.

Thanks Kumara!  Very helpful.  I will check out the meter you mentioned.  Do you know about how far that tower is from where you live?  Use whatever form of measurement is easiest (metric, city blocks, etc.).

If anyone else has any thoughts on this, let me know.  Thanks!

Russ

Re: Cell Phone Towers & Antenna

Kumara
You're most welcome, Russ.

About 200m. The radiation just outside the house is high enough to
prevent me from a good sleep though. So is the radiation on the upper
floor of that house. (Living on a high rise in a town/city is a no-no for me.)

The other thing is the direction of the transmitters. If no
transmitters are pointing at your direction, the radiation wouldn't be so high.

The meter I mentioned has 9 bars: 3 green, 3 yellow, 3 red (in
ascending order). Green is said to be okay even for prolonged
exposure, but that's for normal people. For me (for now), only one
bar is okay for prolonged exposure.

Re: Cell Phone Towers & Antenna

Russ
Thanks Kumara.  Is this the meter you're talking about?  I only count 8 bars but the image isn't very clear.

Cornet -- Re: [eSens] Re: Cell Phone Towers & Antenna

Kumara
This is a much more advanced version. The range of detection is amazing.
If you can afford it, I don't see why not. I trust this brand.
You can get it at a lower price here:
http://www.radmeters.com/Cornet-ED75-uk.html (Don't ask...)

ED-7 seems to be have been discontinued.
