I've been following the discussions on celery juice here, and also purchased and read most of the book. Since I have a variety of the other (non-ES) conditions that this is supposed to be good for, I plan on giving this a try.
I've already drank about 5 glasses of celery juice in the past week or two. Seems like about 8 - 12 ounces is tolerable to start with. I noticed some loose bowels movements and "something going on" in my abdomen, but nothing too terrible. I also put some in a nasal sprayer (straight) and sprayed it into my nostrils. I didn't have lots of mucous coming out, but there was a little, and my nasal passages seem clearer afterwards.
Hey Marc, I'm glad you're doing that, and I hope it will help your EHS.
I suppose you don't have extreme EHS now? How would you rate your EHS, from zero to extreme (100)?
My loose bowel movements were never terrible with celery either.
They happen either immediately, or hours later - you may notice some strange bowel movements in strange times of the day, without much 'logic', not related to what you ate...
This could be celery.
Once the bowel movements get corrected (no more loose stools), if you take the 2 or 3 glasses, you'll slowly notice the juice going to your brain. At least, I do.
Once you still get loose stools, you barely notice anything in the brain.
But as I said, you got to take 2-3 glasses at once to feel that. Always in empty stomach.
I feel like my brain is being watered by some natural fertilizer: it's really like a plant that is thirsty, and suddenly, it gets water and straighten its branches again...
I feel something waking my brain up, quite a nice feeling.
I suppose that are electrolytes and neurotransmitters being fed?!?
I still continue doing the nasal drops, and not much mucus come out too, but the days I stop doing that, my old problematic spot on the left cheekbone feels like asking for the drops.
I suffered too many years from bone chronic infection to get rid of that only after a couple of days... I'll continue until I feel I get no more benefits from it.
You may have some infections coming out from all over, if you continue on celery, skin rash, mouth infections (herpes), sore lips, painful joints, painful nerves on and off, spine will sometimes feel something, neck, etc... At least, I did (and still feel that).
My long term energy (the one that keeps the load in my battery until the end of the day) is climbing, if I'm not detoxing too much.
The moment my body decides to dump toxins in greater amounts, I get less energy of course, but if I rest enough, I get better in 1 or 2 days.
Two supplements that I feel I need with celery are ionic zinc and magnesium.
These are the 2 supplements I keep taking, so that all that detox's got some support.
B12 too, if I feel a lot going on with my nerves.

Certainly my ES is not nearly as bad as it was 19 years ago. And not really a daily issue anymore, due to various supplements, avoidance strategies, and EMF protection devices. So without all of that, it may still be really bad.
So I'm still looking for something that's more of a "cure", whereas I don't have to continually try so hard to maintain balance.
But in the book, celery juice is touted for all kinds of problems, and I probably have about 10 of the problems listed, so really I'd be happy if this would improve ANY of those.
The first book I bought was the Medical Medium, about diseases. I have so many problems he described, that my difficulty was to define which protocol to follow...
I have still many issues described in the celery book too, I suppose most people have, as the causes are only toxins + pathogens, and all chronic diseases will have that as cause...
I hope celery will help you. It's at least, an easy thing to do (compared to all procedures people do).
You gotta write down to see how you improve or not. Once improvement comes, we easily forget how bad we were. I write once a month and keep track to see if I'm getting better or worse.

AS for the nose drops, i realized that depending on the head positions, the liquid goes somewhere else (like tilted head, and applying like a neti pot will send it deep in the upper sinuses, I find, specially if you sniff the thing in the end). It's even painful - which means, it's killing something there.
If it is painful like salty water, it means it reached ammonia or pathogens - that is what Anthony describes in the celery book.
The parts that are used to get celery, feels like nothing, no pain, no burning sensation.
First day on nose drops, my eyes got all red, meaning, it was doing something there!
More people in the Anthony forum are doing the nose drops - I sort of convinced some to do it. Let's see what comes out from there! I'll let you know.
please let us know about your thoughts on celery, as you keep increasing the dosage. Specially concerning EHS or other health problems you say you have.

People in Colombia often drink celery tea ("te aromatica apio"), and it seems to help my stomach somewhat. Has anyone else tried it? Or eating celery seeds?
What is in celery that's so beneficial? I eat a lot of greens as it is so I don't know how much it'll do for me but it is worth a try to integrate it into tea. I would say my EHS now due to supplementing Lion's Mane is around 50/100 (I would say a little less than 50) in severity over the past months a couple doses a week every other week cause my body doesn't agree with it digestive system wise but the long term permanent benefits are curing me slowly. I know for sure now though that my EHS probably had something to do with an infection I got years ago or built up over time with other things in my life that trashed my neurological system eventually getting so bad it came down to this.
You see people that eat unhealthily all the time, they don't have EHS. People that do nothing but use their phones all day and bathe in wifi, they don't have EHS. People that work in for example a dirty job like a car repair place or something involving trash, they don't either. The one thing that happened to me that didn't to them was a severe food poisoning I had once many years ago and my body was never the same since. As I'm healing more I'm noticing all systems working better and it most likely was one thing with major cascade effects and EHS was one of them.
Hi Sourdo, I agree with you about infections wrecking havoc.
People simply don't know, because they think infections = acute infections.
It means, they think they have infections when they have fever, high inflammation, and are down in bed for a couple of days.
once they get up, they think infection finished.
But I agree with you: there is something called CHRONIC infection, that grows slowly, eats your energy slowly, poison your body (and the NERVES, brain etc) slowly, do NOT cause big fevers (on the contrary, they even LOWER body temperature as they also attack your glands and brain who control body temperature), do not cause big symptoms...
In my opinion, most people with EHS (if not all) are full of active slow growing chronic infections, affecting their nerves, glands (such as thyroid) and brain, therefore they get symptoms with electrosmog.
These infections could come from daily social contact, contaminated food, air, inheritance, etc.
The difference between people who react to esmog and people who don't, is that their nervous systems are stronger (in my opinion), not yet plagued by both infections and toxins.
Some people are luckier than others (so they did not have the same bad strains of microbes) or simply, their bodies are cleaner, so their immune systems can fight better.
The fact that some people eat junk and are still 'healthy' could simply mean that they can detox better than those who eat clean, and are sick... Just my feeling...
Celery JUICE is not celery eating, unfortunately. Celery juice is a medicinal drink, while eating celery is healthy eating.
You need the whole bunch of celery taken at once to get the medicinal effects of celery juice... It's VERY strong medicine, if taken fresh on empty stomach. It may take months for people to drink 16 oz of celery juice daily.
Detox reactions can be strong, I swear. It took me about 6 months to be able to take 16 oz, and not even daily... It kills microbes, cleans some heavy metals it seems, and feed the stomach acids.
Once your stomach acids are strong, you'll get less gut infections, digest food better. That's what Anthony William says. It corroborates with my own experience.

My celery juice consumption has dropped to almost nothing... well, maybe 4 ounces once every 4 days. Any more than that, and it's "more harm than good" in my opinion. I definitely need to do something extra to balance out the bad. But have no idea what that might be.

At first 6 oz. almost killed me, at least it felt like that, and therefore i took a long break, about 2 months.
Now i do 20 oz. a day 4 days in a row once a month without problems, only feeling a bit light in my head.
16 oz. is said to be needed to reach the liver, perhaps dilution with distilled water would be fine, but taking less is not the idea.
I adjusted the quantity to my body-seize ( content exclusive of fat and muscles, in fact probably mostly the seize of your digestive organs should count ), from a practical approach working with the body-height seems the way to go.
As Anthony writes likely mainly for north americans that have an average height of 1.69 m ( let's not mention their ever increasing average weight ... ) or 5.55 feet ( 5-11/20 ), and mine is 1.80 m, i calculated the for me recommendable quantity as ( 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.8 / 1.69 x 1.69 x 1.69 ) x 16 oz. = 1.208 x 16 oz. = 19.3 oz.
I start the day with 0.5 liter or 2 cups of water to rinse out the stomach, then wait at least 30 minutes, then take the celery juice and then wait 1 hour before taking breakfast.
Although i am hooked to raw diary, i will not have that from one day before till one day after drinking the celery-juice, as milkproducts ( and eggs ) are supposed to undo the benefits to a large extent.
The darker green the celery and the more leaves, the stronger the effect, but you may want to avoid that in the beginning.
The celery found on farmer's markets is in general much more beneficial than that sold in supermarkets of course.
Although you should ask Anthony what to do in your situation ( but that will not be easy, there is no address given to write to ), extending the periods of rest, like taking the proper quantity once a month or so, instead of 4 oz. every 4 days, appears to be a good idea, at least worth trying out.
Right now something does not seem quite right, if you feel harmed, i'd say take it less frequently, do not keep the volume reduced forever, as the celery is to reach its most important destination : the liver.

It was killing me (incredible nerve pains) at first, but since I started rotation, it got better - I rotate all his favorite 5 juices:
day 1- lemon water 500ml + celery juice 500ml (15-30 min after lemon)
day 2 - lemon water + cucumber juice
day 3- lemon water + ginger water OR aloe water
day 4 back to lemon water + celery juice
In this way, my body could handle the detox reactions from celery.
If I took daily, I would feel the toxins rising, slowly but SURELY, and then, as you said, more harm than good.
Now my juicer is not working well, so I'm not doing it daily, as I should...
But yesterday I could take 750 ml without feeling anything.
I'm on his diet - no eggs, no dairy, no gluten, no vinegar, etc, - for about 14 months now.
And I keep improving, so I'm not ready to stop this whole thing...
A person I know was taking it daily, and after a while, she had to stop: her whole body got stiff and painful, she felt like dying, it took her 1 month to get back in track.
Celery juice is very medical. It's not like orange juice.
It does fix the gut and stomach I find. And it works DIRECTLY on my nerves, spine, neck, etc.
But taking too much can be too hard.
I think my rotation worked well, because all other juices are super mild compared to celery.
Plus, the cucumber and aloe sort of clean my body, supporting it, so that I can take celery again every 4 days...
If I stopped the lemon water before celery juice, I had to wait about 6 days to re-start celery (due to nerves, that get hard like wood, and painful too). That's when I understood what the lemon water was doing to me! So now, I try to keep on taking lemon water before celery juice....

Earthworm, according to Anthony, eggs are the number 1 food to avoid - it feeds extremely well ALL sorts of pathogens.
Number 2 is all dairy products. They also feed pathogens - the same pathogens celery juice kills....
It's a Catch 22 game....
I'm SUPER thin, I weight 41 kg, in my best days, 42 kg, but I can take 1 Liter celery today.
He said that, for people wanting a boost, we could even take 2.5 liters a day!!!
I'm happy with 500ml and sometimes, I increase to 1 liter, but then go back again.
I find it is very healing at higher amounts, but not DAILY....
I hope you are able to lower dairy and see what it does to you....

Allegedly it contains compounds that relax the muscles around arterial walls, which might be helpful to the people here who have trouble with bloodflow. It's also supposed to have some anti-fungal properties.
If it relaxes the muscles around arteries, fine.
But it does make my neck and back muscles feel like they became wood!!!
I back the amount down when this happens.

Celery contains a lot of oxalate, which is a natural plant toxin (to protect from been eaten by humans and animals), which affects us, it does build up in the body. People eating a lot of green, (but also seeds and nuts, among other).
I've had problem with too much oxalates, this is something people were not aware or talking about before, but more and more people are suffering from high oxalates level. And many people people who are, don't know about it.
Another small detail: the vegetable part of the plant (in opposite to the fruit, root or tuber), is the part that will more easily absorb heavy metals from soil. If eating a lot green, veg, herbs, be sure it's organic.
Cilantro is said to be great for us with mercury overload as it binds with the heavy metal in our body, but it will also absorb the poison very easily in the soil, and so sharing it with you when you ingest it.
It's important to focus on the fact that oxalate problems in people is not due to allergy/intolerances, but because it's a toxin. Just because it's natural does make it healthy.
It can affect us in many ways, but kidneys are very badly affected by it, so people with weak kidneys suffer and feel it more.

I hear about this oxalate story, but I sincerely do not buy it.
If you read Buhner's books, who read literally thousands of papers on plants, you wouldn't mind about oxalates either.
He said that one plant USUALLY has HUNDREDS of chemicals, if not THOUSANDS of chemicals.
Yes, ONE plant.
Now researchers isolate one chemical and make tests and discover OFTEN that the chemical is, for example, cancerigenous.
He forgets to include the other hundreds of chemicals that evolved with that plant for millions of years, and that MAY have some function in the ecossystem - the plant is eaten by other animals, right?
Buhner said that no single chemical in a plant work like a chemical in a lab. The plant produces chemicals to protect itself against predators, infections, etc, but it also produce ANTIDOTES not to harm the animals who eat them (if they want to be food for these animals, I mean, if they want the animals to transport its seeds somewhere through stools, for example).
So, really, unless an intelligent researcher comes and analyzes at least, dozens of chemicals of the same plant and its INTERACTIONS not only IN VITRO but IN VIVO too, I would ignore such comments.
You can be sure that any plant has many chemicals, that if isolate, will be considered cancerigenous. Any plant you eat daily, probably will have dozens of chemicals that will be considered that.
It's just that no one analyzed the hundreds of chemicals in carrots or radish yet. But wait until they do: they'll come out with red alarm, telling you to avoid all that!!
I just read one part of Herbal Antiviral from Buhner, who talks about cyanide components in elder, how it's described as 'poisonous' and dangerous.
He says that, anyway, cyanide is also present in apples and cherries, and no one so far talked about how 'poisonous' apples and cherries are.
The term 'poisonous' should be used only when something kills someone. He thinks such warnings are wrong, scientifically wrong.
Plants produce chemicals to protect them to be over-eaten, so they may cause vomiting or diarrhea if eaten in great amounts (like it happens with cherries), but from there to call cherries 'poisonous' is a big step, he said.
There's a lot of phytohysteria going on in the herbal world, he says. Phytohysterics know nothing about chemical interaction inside the plant world - that oxalates in a plant will be counteracted by anti-oxalates, for example.
Of course, he writes, if you isolate these cyanide components in apples, cherries, elder, and give them isolate to animals and people, they may die if in sufficient amounts.
But how many people already died from apple consumption? Or apple juice?
For those who believe plants are just formed by 1 or 2 chemical compounds that work like drugs in a lab, well, you guys should stop eating ALL veggies and ALL fruits, all nuts, grains etc.
Anything natural, coming from the plant world should be avoided.
They ALL contain some poisonous chemicals against bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, insects and most contain chemicals that will cause vomiting or diarrhea if eaten in great amounts.
Even grains, such as wheat, rice contain these chemicals to avoid excessive foraging.
