Athletes don't get ES?

Romana
Are professional athletes so lucky with their lifestyle that they never get ES due to massive exersizing and sweating?
I've never heard of a professional or semi-professional athlete who trains a lot who have gotten ES. Maybe I'm wrong?

I raced bicycles, and while I was not a pro, my aerobic capacity and other stats were on the edge of what's needed to race professionally.

I struggled when wireless cyclometers became common, and my performance also degraded when I started using a speedometer. (I never used one when I was younger.)

Athletes can get lyme disease, for sure, it is even common for athletes to develop chronic lyme.

It seems that strong effort leaves the immune system down at the moment of great physical effort.

Many lyme sufferers suffer also from ES, and very badly.

So I don't think athletes do not get ES.

Of course, if you have ES, you'll hardly be a high performance athlete, as most of us suffer from Chronic Fatigue, or post exertional fatigue (extreme fatigue after physical exercise)...
