I have had an aquarium for many years, and it took this long to figure out that it was causing huge problems for me and my girlfriend. We were both affected, the symptoms were heavy heart beat while going to sleep, anxiety, unable to sleep, waking up feeling dizzy, and for me I would wake up with my face burning every single day.
I was sleeping more than 10 feet away from it, maybe 15 feet, at which point EMF meters would no longer pick up anything. Yet it still was affecting me. Just some advice for anyone with ES that might have an aquarium.. even if it's far away, it can still cause harm. It was one of the most difficult things to figure out. I would be very interested if anyone knows how aquarium pumps can cause such a huge issue. They put out a big magnetic field, but it dissipates very quickly, just a few feet. How could it affect me so far? |

When I used to be super-sensitive, I would react to things at a pretty far distance. For example, a 32" CRT television would be bad at even 15 feet away!
I think there are different kinds of aquarium air pumps, so if one affects you, you could maybe try another see if it isn't so bad. The pump we're using now doesn't seem to bad to me, but it's inside a wood cabinet. Marc |

I had a setup that required a skimmer, filter and in-tank pumps to move the water. No air pump at all. These are just water movement pumps/filters, like Aquaclear and Maxijet.
There's no way anything else would have substituted for that. I reacted if any of them were plugged in. It's all gone now, and we're very thankful for the good nights sleep. I even tried just leaving only one pump plugged in, it was better, but still had problems. I think I slowly became sensitive because I had it in my bedroom for a few years, it was 4 feet from the bottom of the bed. But it has been 5 years since, with it many feet away. |

Hello
It happened to me as well but I was sleeping like 1 meter away from the pump (external water filter, please see video) which was causing 20mG on my pillow. The pump includes an electric motor which cause the ELF magnetic (and probably electric) field. Please also see - http://www.norad4u.com/videos/elf-emr-from-fish-tank-s-water-filter I hope this info helps. I had a couple different fancy indoor fountains, I got rid of the last-tired of caring for it. I am sure the pumps are the same as the fish ones and was probably adding to the mix on a couple occasions.
the fountains were most active in places I felt the worst, but those same places also had a cordless phone. The last had heavy neighbors wifi and smart meters and not long after I packed the thing up for sale. |
