Hi all,
On Friday, I received a bottle of "Ambrotose", manufactured by Mannatech. This supplement is supposed to contain all 8 essential sugars. Healthy people can create all 8 sugars from an intake of just glucose. However, unhealthy people usually have missing enzymes which prevent the conversion, so they have to either get the remaining sugars from the few foods which contain them, or be ill. Noting that the foods listed (kelp, echinacea, oatmeal) have had a significant positive effect on my health in the past few years, I decided to try it. Interestingly, this supplement has had more of an effect on my EMF tolerance than any other supplement I've ever tried. Well, at least so far. Time will tell what happens next week, next month, etc. Basically, I've had to cut way back on my EMF protection devices, because I get the telltale symptoms of overdoing it. So I've been now going out with no devices, and only use the small Springlife Polarizers pendants while using the computer. I'm still figuring out what works, but that's the point -- this supplement changes everything. And this is just with the recommended dosage of 2 capsules per day. So stay tuned... Also, I discontinued use of the Vein Lite, because that seemed like I was really overdoing it by combining them, and I don't think the Vein Lite was helping my ES symptoms. Here is a link to the place that I purchased my bottle from (although it's available from lots of places, including eBay): http://iwn.myglycostore.com/go/ambrotose And here is a web page describing it, written by the husband of the woman who first told me about this supplement back in July (and I didn't get around to investigating it until just a week ago): http://yodo.org/cat3/index.html Marc |

How much did you pay for it? I paid about US$40 for a bottle of 60 capsules -- a 30-day supply. I haven't looked into the alternatives, but it would seem that one can simply add the relevant foods to their diets, although some of the foods may be a bit obscure. Here is a website which has a recipe to make your own glyconutrient powder: http://www.lis.net.au/~dbird/glyconutrients.htm However, it appears that Ambrotose is the standard with which everything else is measured, so I thought I'd start with that first. Most of the testimonials I've read said that their problems were resolved in 2 to 4 weeks with Ambrotose, so I'm only on day 4. Marc |

Hi all,
Okay, I've now taken the Ambrotose for a few more days. This actually is NOT going to work for EMF protection because of tolerance problems. That is, although I could handle taking 2 capsules a day on the first day, as time went on I could only handle taking less and less. In fact, I've now broken open a capsule and taking fractional amounts of a capsule each day. Yesterday, I mixed some with a glass of water and drank only part of the glass, and probably only took the equivalent of 1/20th of a capsule, and STILL had tolerance problems! However, when speaking of tolerance problems, I've found in the past that there seem to be two different categories with me. With one category, my primary reaction is hyperactivity, chest pains and agitation (from Modifilan, Chia Seeds, and the Personal Rejuvenizer Pendant), and these products tend to test poorly with EAV testing and are discontinued almost immediately. With the second category, my primary reaction is dehydration (Cellfood, Aloe Vera juice). Generally, these products test well when I take them in for EAV testing, but I have to take them in very small amounts initially, and then I eventually ramp up to the recommended dosage. So far, the Ambrotose seems to be in the second category. I get dehydrated skin and mouth, plus a metallic taste in my mouth, plus increased e nergy bordering on hyperactivity. So I will experiment further with tiny amounts and see if this is tolerable in the long run. Marc |
Hi Marc and Everyone,
How did Ambrotose work out, Marc? I am interested in glyconutrients like Ambrotose and want to know what experiences people have. The main ingredient is from the larch tree, arabinogalactan. Aloe is also in there, and i ordered fresh, raw aloe leaf from www.sunfood.com. I am also considering making my own according to the formula by Dr. David Bird, which may be just an imitation of Ambrotose with the ingredients bought separately for lower cost. That message that you are quoting must be several years old, as I haven't used Ambrotose in a LONG time! Basically, I only used that for a short period of time, found it intolerable, and moved on. But I have found things that work well for immune support. Echinacea from Medi-Herb is one that comes to mind. Marc |
