Has anybody tested any of the new 2011 vehicles for EMF? If so, care to share the results.
Chashed my 2002 Jeep Liberty that only bothered me on long drives and my husband wants a new car. We're looking for a compact economy car that's great on gas...like the Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, Toyota Yaris, or even the Kia Soul. Drove a few the other day but I didn't have a meter, other than myself:) The base model Nissan Versa looks promising; no power windows/doors and no radio, no ESC and no heated seats, GPS, or alarm system(no key fob), no controls on the steering wheel...but it has the wiring inside still for the radio, optional A/C and ABS and it has lots and lots of airbags. I have little kids so the airbags are a necessity. Any suggestions on what to look out for would help. I know the battery, alternator, and fuse box are best located on the passenger side but that's about it. Deidra |
I own a 2007 Nissan Versa that I bought partly because of the minimal
electrical stuff. I would guess that the 2011 would be similar. I like the car, gets 35 mpg on the highway. The one surprise, that no one bothered to mention, was that there is a low tire pressure sensing system. Each tire has a device built into the valve stem that somehow communicates to the car's computer what the pressure is. I don't like the system because of the extra radiation, and also because the devices seem to all have a very slow leak, so that every few months all the tires need to have air added. I have not asked about the option of disabling that system. Gary On 12/15/2010 5:12 AM, dpestun wrote: > Has anybody tested any of the new 2011 vehicles for EMF? With small gas cars you are very close to the ignition system.
At least test drive a VW diesel... My ( newly purchased just off lease ) 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel is very low on EMF.
It's crazy money cause they are in such great demand though because that was the last year mercedes made the engine.....But they are all just coming off the 3 year lease now... Hi, Deidra,
We have been renting vehicles (mainly because my husband needs to rent one for trips and so we try different ones each time he needs a car). I have not found any, so far with no ES problems (5 different models now). However, I am writing to say, if I did, I would rent the vehicle for several weeks before buying one, to make sure it worked for me. Even then you have to be careful, since different cars of the same model can be different. We have found at least 1 dealer in the area, tho, who would be willing to rent us a new car [a demo model] to later buy if we otherwise checked it out and thought it was okay for me before hand. This is easier to negotiate if you don't buy a brand new car, especially. [Most dealers will tell you that driving a car off the lot will depreciate it.] Anyway, a car is a huge expense to buy blindly. I would not want to go there without an agreement of some sort to try it for a week or two before buying. That is easier to negotiate now that the economy is bad. Good luck; let us know what you find. (PS: I can send you the models we tried which didn't work if you want that.) Hi Robert,
Some of us here are MCS, as well as ES. Do you know whether diesels bother people riding in them? I can't be behind a diesel for any length of time due to the fumes. Also does anyone know whether the filters that they have for diesels would address MCS concerns? My fiat Punto 1999 has just blown the head gasket so I need to get my
spanners out again, I was lent my dads ford fiesta 1999 1.3 and found that this (rather like his old rover 120) gives me a form of mild induced butterfly feeling in my stomach, very mild but noticeable. Must be the air bag or something, My dad also reeks of mold as his house was damp for quite some time, so all the fabrics in the house pick it up, 1 week of driving him about has given me a sore nose and chest and itchy eyes, he wonders what all the fuss is about, but at 86 he has no sense of smell, I wish I new how to kill this stuff wholesale it seems his house is over run with it, but you can see it, just smell it. When he recently threw out a duvet that was past its ell by date, he used it to cover the car, within 1 week it was black with mould all over - scary !!!!! that's whats in my lungs right now I guess. puk In a message dated 15/12/2010 23:35:32 GMT Standard Time, [hidden email] writes: Hi Robert, Some of us here are MCS, as well as ES. I am not a specialist in MCS - but I have driven a few of the around and they had no problems. The engines in the jeep 2007 and 2008 are mercedes deisel and they are known to be the best in the world. Fiat now is trying to make a diesel for the jeep but they are no where near a mercedes. There are loads of these Jeeps on the used car lots now so go and take a test drive...and bring your gause meter - you will be pleasantly surprised.
I am not sure why they are so low in EMF - it's like the Jeep team knows that people that buy a jeep want to get away from the electro - pollution of the city. I use it to tow a 23 foot airstream to places like Greenbank. On 2010-12-15, at 6:35 PM, Evie wrote: > Hi Robert, > > Some of us here are MCS, as well as ES. Diane,
I've heard many ES-ers that are better with diesel engines, Although I would think modern diesel cars can emit a lot of emf as well, as they are high tech engines (direct injection, turbo,...). Here in Europe diesel cars are very popular (+/- 50% drives diesel cars), I know it's not that common in the States, If you can you may want to test diesel cars to see how you react ES-wise. Regards the fumes, yes, that can be a problem with diesel cars, especially if you drive in reverse with a cold diesel engine! But the past years a lot of diesel cars have standard "particulate filters". They really are much better regards fumes (they should make it standard for all diesel cars, it would be make a huge difference regards pollution)... I'm quite sure, Mercedes and Peugeot diesel cars have particulate filters as standard (Peugeot is a car brand only sold in Europe, definitely not in the States). Don't know about Jeep diesel cars (with Mercedes diesel engines). For VW diesel cars I remember 3 years ago it is sth of a 400 dollar option (here in Belgium)... Anyway, cars differ a lot between countries, but if you find a diesel car you like ES-wise, investing in a particulate filter (I suppose you can have it installed later on) could be a good choice... So far I've driven the 2011 Nissan Versa and the 2011 Ford Fiesta. Both automatics, so midrange in the accessories offered. The Versa didn't make me flush or sick to my stomach, but it did make me very agitated and keyed up. The Fiesta didn't feel good at all, both physically and mentally. After the test drive I looked under the hood and the fuse box and battery are right behind the steering wheel. Not sure where the alternator was. I'm thinking it may be the airbags causing the agitation/nervousness but I won't be able to get away from them in a new vehicle. We're gonna test drive a Kia Soul this weekend and I'll try to remember to take a meter this time. Does anybody know if there would be a benefit ES wise to driving a manual transmission instead of an automatic? Deidra |

when I found out what was cuasing major es symptoms in my auto renault scenic 2ltr ie a smal fan driven sensor for the aircon by the rearveiw mirror, once I got rid of it the car is a joy to drive.see youtube vid showing readings of latter device with triefeild meter _http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zOtlhCHrWE_ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zOtlhCHrWE) puk In a message dated 17/12/2010 11:47:47 GMT Standard Time, [hidden email] writes: So far I've driven the 2011 Nissan Versa and the 2011 Ford Fiesta. Hi Everyone: Here is my story.. I hope it can help someone.
I have suffered from severe Multiple Chemical Sensitivities [ MCS ] for many (35 or more) years. It appears that in the past few years I have come very sensitive to Direct Current Sources namely energized conductors. I just recently discovered that, if I came in close contact with a Direct Current power source such as a DC [ direct current] energized conductor I would loose my balance. I also found that if I am exposed to a DC energy conductor that is positive (+) polarity I will be pushed backwards. When I was exposed to a similar DC energy conductor that is negative polarity (-) I will be pushed forwards. There is nothing I can do physically, mentally or emotionally to change these results. In attempt better understand this phenomenon I developed 2 tests that incorporates a known energy source such as an AA 1.5 volt battery or a 9 volt battery. These test allowed me to determine which polarity pushed effects me and how sensitive I am to the energy source. My performance of these tests has been witnessed by many individuals. Some have tried the test and experienced similar results. Purpose of the Test: I am trying to determine if this possible sensitivity to Direct Current energy is common among the population or am I the only one. I am also trying to determine if these personal tests could be helpful in determining how sensitive a person is to surrounding EMF radiation. The first part of the test is. 1) Hold an AA battery in your hand with the positive (+) end facing your body. 2) Point the positive (+) end of the battery towards the base of your chest bone. 3) Hold the positive (+) end of battery about 2 to 4 ins. Away from your body. Note: Do not allow the battery to touch this area of your body. 4) After about 1 to 2 minutes take note as to how you feel and if you feel any different. Note: Record how you feel during and after this test for future reference. The Second Part of the Test: 5) The second part of the test can be performed about 5 minutes or more after completing the first part. 6) Hold the same AA battery in your hand with the negative (-) end facing your body. 7) Point the negative (-) end of the battery towards the base of your chest bone. 8) Hold the negative (-) end of battery about 2 to 4 ins. Away from your body. Note: Do not allow the battery to touch this area of your body. After about 1to 2 minutes take note as to how you feel. Note: Record how you feel during and after this test for future reference. Note: This test may not produce identifiable symptoms for everyone. Close Friends and Family Members have tried the tests many times. Some feel effects of the DC radiations while others do not. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Some times if my hands are pushing out to much Energy i cant sleep with them on my chest bone! And i cant püt my hand over my fore head for the same resons. Q-Gong helps on earthing the energy away if i have taken on too much emf during the day.
Like your test! Howard Hold your hands over someone else's body about an inch away, feel the energy. ie Reki. You will be top of the class!
