We're looking at installing 12V halogen lights in my girlfriend's trailer;
they'd be powered directly from a 12V deep cycle battery, all DC current. Does anyone have experience with this type of light or know if they're "clean" (no RF), since they're designed for 12V and being powered by 12V? Your help is appreciated; thanks! R. I have used 12v halogen 20 and 50 watt dicholoric bulbs and found them to
be fine, however I switched to LED as they use far less power and thus dont drain the battery as fast as Halogens, I find if I use the LED bulb that is approx 1-3 watts in a reading light so that its close to my face I do get a reaction after a while so I tend to keep my distance but on the whole I am very pleased with the lights running on 12v, I have about five LED bulbs running off 2 car batteries in my log cabin and the light levels are fine. Hi Bill and Paul,
Thanks for your replies. I guess we could ask the manufacturer if they know if the bulbs use regulators. If we end up trying and testing them, I'll let you know how they are. Cheers, R.
