Not only are airline companies introducing wifi on planes for internet users, but I also read a few weeks back in a science magazine that aeroplane manufacturers are looking at ways to change the vast majority of their copperwiring on their planes to wireless, to save them space/weight/money etc. They already use some wireless connectivity, but from the article I read it won't be long before much of technology on planes will be mostly dependenton wireless. Actually, just found some of the article online here:

Hi again, Steph,

I am not sure whether the increase in zzzzzzs is from the head coming closer in contact or from the spine coming closer in contact or none of the above.  ;)  I notice more from my spine, not that you might not differ where you notice it.  I also can notice zzzzzzs upon sitting in certain situations, which makes me think the spine is involved.  I cannot speak to thepillow thing, tho, since I don't see a difference with gobs of pillows. And I too can have this zzzzzs thing while not in contact or near metal springs.  I can have it sitting on the ground outside some places, laying on the floor on my side, or on my springless air mattress (especially during and after a train goes by) or in high e-smog situations.

If pillows help tho, go for it!  :)  If you get the uglies we won't notice!  ;)

Bless you, dear--you are one of the few who enjoys my bad sense of humor,
Diane

Hi Diane

As usual I was LOLLing when I read this - you will know the bit that made me do that!

I have one of those memory foam pillows that is designed to sort of hold you better in place and support your neck better. Now the really odd thing isthat here I am sleeping on a mattress with springs [really bad I know but I'm still hoping this is just a temporary thing] and I usually read for a bit before sleep propped up on feather pillows. While I am doing that thingsaren't do bad on the zzz zzz front. Then to sleep I take away the feather pillows and use the memory foam one and what happens when I lie down? the zzz zzz zzz goes mad! I think it must be something to do with my head being in closer contact with the mattress and the springs at that stage - so to that extent maybe there is something in the "lots of pillows" advice. Itis all trial and error and experimentation.

All the best

Steph

Hi, Steph,

Pillows only worked for me when I had fibromyalgia.  Since then I have moved on and am actually like you, I don't like pillows so much (but I still like a soft topper on my mattress).  I like to sleep with only a towel rolled up and secured with ribbons under my neck.  (Hey, I can use all the help for my saging jaw-line I can get; sleeping with your head forward all night is not pretty.  lol)

I don't see how more pillows would help with EMS, personally, unless you are using latex rubber ones, which might then blunt some emfs from the springs???  If that is the case, a latex mattress topper would work as well.

Take care,
Diane

Does anyone know the rationale behidn "extra pillows" in bed being helpful?- all I find with extra pillows is that I find it difficult to sleep andwake up with a bad crick in my neck!!

The thought of airplane is terrifying. What if you start to have life threatening reactions & you are stuck up in the air?  Yikes. Loni

This is interesting - like the bit about the church and the bathroom - is that why I love to wallow in my bath for so long??? But the train is a b ig no no - I cannot handle the train at all - all those cell phones and wifi give me the mother of migraine headaches. So a big no to trains.

EMF sensitive individuals report significant and alarming health problems, such as heart arrythmia, nerve pain, and merciless migraines. These health problems can incapacitate individuals or make them unproductive. We review some of the top techniques for quickly and immediately reducing ElectroMagnetic Fields to provide immediate relief for discomfort and pain.

Re: 10 Ways to Save Your Life Using EMF Sensitivity

Hi Diane

You did it again - you made me LOL!!

Yes I too have noticed some of those things - like zzzz with a train going by - or even a bus! and sometimes feel them in the beautiful country park where I often go for some respite, which is a bit of a pity. They have theselovely wooden bench seats in there so its not even the case that there is any metal involved. I think you are right about the spine - it could be part of it and I also think that what has happened - certainly to me- is that I am now sensitive to vibrations in all their forms and some are more subtle than others. Something though which I have found to be beneficial recently is that I changed my fish oil supplement and have been taking a high doseof EPA  - with evening primrose oil but no DHA in it and even tho it says you have to be in this dosage for 3 months before you notice any improvement, I think I am seeing some improvement even after only a couple of weeks. The brand name is Vegepa made by a company called Igennis in case
you are interested in it.

Take care

Steph
