Biozone and sleeping questions

Jsverdlove
I have MCS as well as EI and am wondering if anyone with MCS also does ok with the Biozone filter...still struggling to find a filter that I tolerate and actually does something.

Also - although I'm doing better in general, I still have symptoms at night that won't go away - swollen hands and one sinus closes. I'm trying to figure out if it's the EI or the MCS or simply detoxing at night. I unplugged everything and my meter doesn't show anything dramatic in the bedroom (that didn't sound very good did it :) Anyway, any ideas appreciated! And air filter suggestions, too...

Finally - just my thoughts on candles and incense - while i used to love them, with MCS I can't tolerate, and not sure this was posted, but all fragrant candles have toxins like benzene and synthetic carcnogenic fragrances in them. And lead wicks. Some incences are synthetic, too. So get soy or beeswax candles if you can :)

One more little note - I always get tingly hands and a tight head while online. The past two days I haven't had this problem? I realized that the only thing I changed was that I started a new probiotic from Phramx called HLC Intensive. Who knows? maybe there's something there...

The only problem you might have is in the first weeks, as the machines have plastic
parts that need to do a little off-gassing first (kind of ironic that an air purifier
would contribute to the level of pollutants). Also, when these types of purifiers,
there is often a metallic smell in the air for the first few days, as this is the
smell of things being cleaned up. After that first week though, it should be
helpful for MCS. As for "filters", they don't really help with chemical smells
and such -- just the larger particles like dust. The biozones aren't filters.

Also, on a similar lines, I like the "Airsource Mobile" air purifier -- it
has similar technology.

I've always found that probiotics help my ES symptoms.

I recommend Oil of Oregano for sinus issues. It is also called
Oregacillin or something. There are also great homeopathic remedies for
clearing the sinuses. Your local Whole Foods or Organic Grocery Store
should have homeopathic remedies you can choose from.

Jill,

I like using an Aranizer ozone ionizer. It destroys gases, air
pollution, and fungus. It also provides negative ions like at a beach
or mountains. The ions also make dust settle on the floor or walls.
Then I vacuum with a Miele with a HEPA filter. It think this system
is better for taking gases out of the air, but not as good for
particles unless you vacuum everyday. People like the feeling it
gives in the house and deoderizes. I have a small one in my care. I
used to have a house one in my car but it destroyed my alternator. It
sure took care of air pollution and got rid of cig smoke on my
clothes from a club. These were developed for factories and clubs.

And air filter suggestions, too...

Jill,

I dissagree that Biozone doesn't help with chemical smells. I use it in my
car everyday, and it definitely reduces vehicle exhaust fumes. I use one in
my garbage can, and I never have smell from my garbage. Our bathroom never
smells after somebody goes to the bathroom.

My Dad is a dealer and sells Biozones to Nail Salons and other places with
heavy chemicals. I ran trials for my Dad to test the different applications
we could use it and have used in a paint room to wipe out vapours. For
strong chemical vapours it requires large quantities of Biozone, which would
be too high for an MCS person - ozone levels increase significantly when
when using the large units - they are still safe, but very obvious that
ozone is present.

One thing to consider with Biozone is that it can provide great relief with
the smallest units. So if you have a 2000 sq ft home, you don't necessarily
need a unit designed for 2000 sq ft. You can use a 1000 or even smaller.
It is ideal to put Biozone near cold air return of your heating system (if
you have one), or through induct method (I use both). The induct is ideal
since it distributes the photoplasma evenly throughout a home.

The most popular model is the 1000, with adjustable 3-way switch so it can
be turned down to low for sensitive people.

Biozone is undergoing corporate restructure, and their prices may be going
up any day.

I hopef you weren't disagreeing with something I said...
I *agree* that it helps with chemical smells! You just
have to give it a week for it to get rid of it's own
chemical smell...
